And that means I’ve haven’t been too easy to get along with in the previous month!!!
October just flew by and I hardly had time to get any quilting done. So we might as well get the bad news out of the way. For October I wanted to:
1) QUILT THE BIRTHDAY QUILT!!!!!!! – NOPE
2) Make more Blue and Cheddar blocks ( I have 18 blocks right now. Maybe make 20 more!?!) – NOPE
3) Finish at least one of the donation quilts that DGC#3 and I have been working on all summer. – NOPE
4) 10 Hexie flowers – I’m starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel on this one. I can’t wait to reveal it once it’s finished! – DONE
Only one of the four goals finished. 😥
Now that doesn’t mean I was doing nothing all month. I helped with our groups’ quilt show at the Autumn Glory Festival. I somehow managed to finish the Healing Quilt that needed to be displayed at the show. And it turned out very nice, if I do say so myself.
We had quite a collection of healing quilts made by our group members. They have all been donated to the local cancer treatment center, where they will be displayed.
Also, throughout the month I was dealing with some changes going on. DH has been wanting to upgrade to a newer, better truck for pulling the fifth wheel RV. We actually had an extremely good deal practically drop into our laps, so now he has the truck he wanted. Of course, I had to deal with getting the tags, title, financing, etc. So that kept me busy. Then, out of the blue, we got a call from an RV dealer that we had seen in the spring. He gave us an offer we couldn’t refuse on a new fifth wheel that we really liked. So, once again, I got to be in charge of all the paperwork. But now we have our retirement “home-on-wheels” all ready to go!!!
And then, since we had a new RV to camp in, we had to plan a camping trip. DS#1 and DS#2 loaded up their campers and respective families and we all went camping on the last weekend of October. It was a blast having all the DGC and most of the children together. DS#3 joined us for a day, but DD couldn’t be there.
Anyway, all this other “stuff” meant I didn’t have much time for quilting. And I’m really wanting to get some things done, but this month is already looking like I’m going to be pretty busy with other “stuff”, so I don’t know if I’ll get much quilting done. I think I will go easy on myself with the goals this time!!
1) Make some more nine patches for Blue and Cheddar quilt.
2) Help Mom make another walker bag.
3) Get one donation quilt finished.
4) 10 more hexie flowers.
There, that doesn’t seem like too much to do, and I can always do more, if I manage to get some extra time.
