Good Morning from Peace House

I gathered up some stuff that I would need and came over to Peace House this morning. I’ve brought Norman over with me, so that he can get used to the place a little bit. Right now he’s running all around trying to figure out all the secrets of this big, new place. He’s already gotten stuck in a closet, that I didn’t think he could even get into. Guess I better find all the secrets to this house, too, so I can cat-proof it!!!

I’m not sure if DH will move the Fun Quilter today, but I want to be ready if he does.

This is “A-mazing in Red” which is an adaptation of Bonnie Hunter’s “Blue Ridge Beauty” I started this at the workshop that Bonnie taught last June (or was it July?) I have it spread out on the floor where the Fun Quilter is going to go, so I’ll have to gather it up today. But I’m really thinking that I should add a simple border to this. It just seems to call for something. Any thoughts? The fabric at the bottom of the photo is for the backing, not something I am considering for a border.

I’ve got most of my fabric yardage in the closet of the studio. I’m afraid to put much more on the shelves – they’re starting to sag already. Those wire shelves were already here in the house, but I’m thinking that I’m going to need to have something more sturdy sometime in the near future.

I’m looking forward to hosting more sewing get-togethers. Bev, Barb and I had a great time last weekend. I worked on a few different things – nine patches and pet beds were two of the things that I did.

Bev did the quilting on her “Bricks and Steppingstones” (another Bonnie Hunter design, which is a free pattern on her website)

Barb, I apologize, I didn’t get a picture of the beautiful blocks that you were working on. I hope you’ll be able to make a little progress on them before I see you next month!!

Well, I’ve got to get to work here – DH will be home early and (like I said before) I’d like to have him more the Fun Quilter, so I better gather up and be ready for him.
